How to remove ejector and install a new one

I was removing my barrel for cleaning and dropped it onto a concrete floor. Yes, I'm aware that was stupid. I mangled my ejector so there is no hope of bending it back into place. I found another one pretty easily but cannot find any help as to how it is unpinned and re-pinned. any assistance in how this is done would be greatly appreciated.

Well the OP is in the 15-22 forums so we can guess he's working on a 15-22. I'm sure Youtube is chocked full of how to videos l, probably your best bet.

There are no videos i can find for replacing the ejector, there a re a couple just tweaking it and all of the rest are about the extractor replacement that some people mistakenly think is the ejector.

If you're in the US i'd say your best bet is to contact S&W and pay for them to do it, otherwise its buying a new barrel

Unfortunately I have done that twice, not on the same rifle. Both times, I was able to straighten the ejector successfully with pliers. They are not heat treated which is why they have to be adjusted from time to time.

I have never used this tool and I don't know where you buy it, but this video demonstrates the removal and reassembly process for the barrel extension and the ejector.

I know this is an older thread but I recently became a "victim" of Fed Ex ground shipping with the box arriving back from barrel threading with the ejector sticking out of the box and in a nice L shape...

I found this post and the above video and located H&W Steel's order page (web link is on their YT video page) to order the extension removal tool. Todd at H&W Steel responded to my order quickly and got the tool shipped out quickly. Hopefully I'll get the tool and the ejector about the same time and get back to shooting soon after they arrive

No affiliation to the vendor and no experience with the tool yet but I figure he who dies with the most toys and tools wins so better to buy a new tool than spend money and time shipping it off to S&W.

ETA replacement ejector & barrel extension tool arrived same day tapped the 2 pins out of the barrel extension, H&W Steel tool removed the extension w/zero problems, replaced the ejector pressed the extension back on with the tool and reinstalled pins. Took maybe 30 minutes start to finish as I was being careful. Took the rifle out the next morning and fired multiple mags with zero ejection issues.

Where did you get the ejector? If from the factory, what is the part no.?

Both had the ejector at the time I ordered it, I've since ordered a backup and the pins, extractors and some springs for "next time".
