How was your Labor Day weekend?

I had a hunker down day. My kids went to the ocean for 4 days. I had plenty of food & beer. It's been warm, 100 plus every day. I turned the cooler on & watched some TV, read & slept. All in all a fine weekend

we had to say goodnight one last time to our little friend Ash on Monday. He and his twin sister Misty were kitten litter mates born late fall 2001. She preceded him this February. Their bodies just failed them. It's really hard sleeping now without him curled up next to my pillow, or under the covers against my hip. He was everyones' best friend. He would literally fight you for the Chips Ahoy cookie you were trying to eat.

Dozen fresh ears of sweet corn, another batch of jerked/smoked baby backs and celebrating my end of participation in the working class. Then a nice motorcicle ride through the country on Tuesday, after the tourpests left for the season.

Spent the weekend at Cedar Key, FL with the extended family....other than a few misunderstandiings, we had a great time....Cedar Key is a quaint little island off the west coast of Florida....almost like Florida's Mayberry.....with an ocean.
