How well do you take a compliment?

This morning my wife said to me, "Out of the three sons your mom had I got the best of the bunch. " I smiled at her and replied, " Thanks sweetie, but that bar was set pretty low, you know". I got "that look" after that reply. How are you at handling a compliment?

If your wife gives you a compliment like that give her a hug, kiss, tell her you love her and then shut up!

How to take a compliment depends on who is giving it.

A fellow student in my graduate program said "The only compliment I've all month is how well I take criticism."

" Thanks sweetie, but that bar was set pretty low, you know".

In my family, being the only sane sibling is a complement.

I once introduced myself to my new banking staff this way:
"I've got my problems, but I've learned to live with them and you will too."

Oh, the looks I got. It was priceless.

I saw painted on the back of a pick-up yesterday "I Don't Suffer from Insanity. I Enjoy It!"

Best compliment EVER to any police officer (said to one I know)—"damn, Sir I have never been shot so well and so fast by cop. If I live over this one, I think I will stay in prison a while. It's safer there. Where did you learn to shoot like that!?"
