I am NOT making this post for political purposes!
I can appreciate the need for ammunition by the Ukrainian government. I can appreciate the desperation of the Ukrainians, as they may be fighting for the preservation of their existence!
The President of the Ukraine has put out a call for ammunition, which I saw as an appeal to the governments of the free world. I was a little surprised when at least two American companies (Ammo, Inc and Remington) stepped up and pledged a million rounds of ammunition each being manufactured and sent to the Ukraine. I do not begrudge the Ukraine for being the recipients of American corporate generosity.
However, I have to wonder, how will the American gun owning public be impacted by the corporate generosity? American ammo manufacturers can not meet current demand. Ammunition availability is spotty, and where it is available, the prices are almost 100% greater than pre-pandemic prices. Powder and primers, when they can be found, may carry unrealistic prices. In order to meet existing contracts, many chamberings just aren't being produced. Are we facing a new round of shortages? What will be the new price per round hurdle that we will face?
Just a few points to contemplate for the immediate future!
