Huge fan of the M&P 40 Shield!

My wife and I spent the weekend with my son and daughter in-law. I have a M&P 40 FF and he has a M&P 40 Shield. I had never shot the Shield and thought that it would either kick like heck, being a .40 cal, or be very uncomfortable with its more narrow grip. So, we went to a very friendly firing range in Seymour, IN, and put about 200 rounds, each, through it. All I can say is WOW! It neither kicked out of control nor was it uncomfortable. In fact, in many ways it was a more pleasurable shooting experience than my full frame M&P 40 was. I actually shot better with the Shield. Nothing but praise. I'm going tp have to get one of these.

I'm fairly new to shooting but I tried a friend 40 Shield prior to getting anything myself. Maybe it was first time good luck but I shot the 40 great! I had no issues at all and even he was impressed as I did better than him.
I ended up ordering a 9mm just for the extra round and the "idea" of more control (and cheaper ammo/practice)... Not sure I noticed that at all. I've gotten better with it but I still think I may have shot the 40 slightly better for whatever reason.
Guess I better go practice some more...

The Shield .40 S&W is my EDC and the gun I qualify with every year for my retired LE permit.

I shoot my 40 Shield very well too and choose it to carry over my 9 and 45.
