Hundreds caught trying to cash in on the frenzy

I have enough of everything to wait it out.
Yeah it's hard to do, but my disgust with this behavior far outweighs my urge to hoard.

I refuse to deal with these people. Let'em scream "free market" till their faces turn blue. They will get not one dime from me. I will not comply.

I have twenty 30-round AR mags, and ten 20-round, all kept loaded. It's not that many, but it's more than I would want to carry very far. And I have enough ammo to recharge them all several times over.

I also have several hundred rounds for each handgun, rifle, and shotgun. And a few thousand .22 Long Rifle, HV shorts, and CB shorts & longs.

Extra mags for the pistols.
And reloading equipment and components for all of the revolvers.

I will be fine.

I did my panic buying in October when an online supplier had Wolf primers on sale for $17.50 per 1000. I'll probably not shoot as much 22LR as I normally do during the summer as I'm down to 4-5 thousand. Between my wife and I we usually shoot a brick every two weeks. Ironically with the going rate of 22LR and the price I paid for primers I can load and shoot 9mm cheaper. Especially since we cast our own bullets.

I'm hoping that those who got caught with their pants down learned something.

But I doubt it.

Events like leap year happen every fours. I count on it.

I've neither bought or sold anything in the so called craziness.

My 22 ammo normally sells for about $15.00/50 so I'm used to that aspect of things.

I recently loaded 400 .38 special and a couple hundred .308 Win rounds using components purchased when supply exceeded demand.

Honestly, my pocketbook's been unaffected.

It will suck if Magpul ends up having to move states due to Colorado trying to pass their retarded state ban on mags. If thats the case the production will be halted for a bit in order for Magpul to relocate. But im sure eventually it'll be back up to par.

I have moved a few critical operations in my life (drugs and medical devices) and have never created a halt of production. You start with an inventory build, qualify the new location, and do a phased relo of the equipment. It is often possible to source contractually during the interim. Magpul's limited resource will be plastic injection molds. The goal would be to minimize the downtime of each mold. It takes longer to execute a move without a supply interruption, but it happens all the time.

Magpul has already stated that moving mag production will be the first priority, they intend to get the move done with minimal impact on delivery schedules.

My guess is that they are stockpiling as much raw molded material as they can run through the presses. They will move assembly first, then the molding machines as assembly works off the stock.

I have enough ammo and reloading supplies to keep me active through the summer, at least.

But, I shoot the uncommon stuff mostly (41 long Colt, .30 Mauser, 45-90, 30-40 Krag)

Before President Bush left office I bought ammunition. I bought M-2 from the CMP. I bought .22 LR as well as .38 Special and .45 ACP. When things changed in washington, I kept buying as I could focusing on .38 Special and .45 ACP. Just before the last election cycle, I bought some more .22 LR ammo. Then in Feb./Mar. of this year I found and bought some more .22 LR ammo from a LGS that was not jacking the price up through the roof.

What I have not done is sell ammo to profit off the fear/desperation of other persons. I've swapped rifle parts w/ folks for component bullets, but these swaps have been at the normal prices that would have prevailed before this era of panic.

How I have bought ammo has been driven not so much by concerns regarding possible restrictions on ammo purchases, etc. but by my own experience. For many years circumstances were such that I could not afford to buy more than a limited amount of ammo at any one time. My shooting was almost exclusively handloads produced often with an eye to economy and occasionally with a concern for high-performance or optimum accuracy. Now that our children are grown and gone, my wife and I are under less pressure. In years past I'd never have bought a case of rifle or pistol ammunition. Now I have several of each on hand as well as a plentiful supply of components. I am only low on pistol primers.

Maybe about 1/3rd will. Another 1/3rd will kinda sorta... That other 1/3rd was never going to do anything except follow the stampede and be left in the dust.
