That’s what a lot of people down here call them. Many call them Spider Lilies or October Lilies. I think the hurricane monicker is appropriate today.

We are right in the middle of the cone, with predicted TS force winds. Maybe 60-65 mph gusts. Maybe 6-8 inches of rain. I gassed up my generators and cranked and ran them a little. Fired up the chainsaw and made sure it ran. I put some extra water containers in the pastures for my renter’s stock. We are dependent on well water. I will put a small generator in my old pickup with a can of gas and park it in the middle of a pasture, well away from any trees. We’ve got the obligatory bread and milk, plus other edibles. Now, about all we can do is wait and pray for God’s protection and tender mercies.

Hopefully, in a couple of days, we can laugh at all the wasted prepping efforts. I do realize there are a lot of people facing much harsher conditions than we are, and I pray for them.

We are about 100 miles almost due South of Atlanta.

Red, hang in there!

I'm about as ready as I can be.

Keep the faith!

Thanks for the pic.
