May get banned but this is very disturbing and needs to be known.

The Mayor of Dallas TEXAS has told the NRA that the city does not want the NRA meeting there !

This is a firearm forum, I assume 99% of us own or have an interest in firearms.

If there is not at least 99% of us who are Members of the National Rifle Association there should be.

Please join immediately !

Like many of us here my time on this old earth is limited but we have to support this organization now because it is an important part of freedom for the future of the United States.

"How does moving the event someplace change anything?"

Yep, a lot of money coming into Dallas area businesses. I wonder how his constituents will feel about that.

Very true, but with the requisite mass protests likely to occur, the city will be spending a lot for added security and crowd control. The irony being that NRA Members will make a host city safer, while the anti-gun people will be dangerous. As always.

First off, he is not the "Mayor of Dallas". He is the Mayor Pro Tem of the city council which is nowhere near as powerful as an actual elected Mayor. (Besides he doesn't seem to have a consensus within the council.)
I really don't expect this political ploy to gain much traction. (Especially if the NRA brings a breach of contract suit against the city.)

As do many, this gentleman never misses an opportunity to appear before a camera. To say that his opinion is unlikely to generate much support here is an understatement.

As a proud Life Member of the NRA, I am delighted the meeting is close enough for me to attend this year!

...I don't know how many here have seen this billboard in Louisville Kentucky...not good...

A Personal Opinion Here

We, as gun owners and as NRA members are taking the blame for the deeds that the people who are not qualified as gun owners as well as those who do not choose to obey laws. The arguments that are presented will not make anything better but will further burden those who are law abiding. I have observed that those who are opposed to gun ownership do not use common sense nor do they depend on facts when they propose the increase in restrictions on gun ownership.
We, as gun owners and NRA members need to be intelligent in our endeavors to retain our rights so as to continue to oppose those who are bent on we US citizens becoming subservient, when our rights are taken from us as gun owners the remainder of our rights will not be far behind! In my opinion!

350 million guns in private hands.....anti gun folks can say and do what they want, they are never getting that many out of circulation. The event will go on as planned.
