While we are on the "Ding" topic I'd like to add that there is no statute of limitations.

I received a ding from a post I made over a year prior to the awarding of the ding when an old thread was revived and my post that originally slipped by the watchers' eyes was spotted.

What I don't like about the instant Ding is that there is no Natural Justice/Procedural Fairness, or Right of Reply before conviction and sentence are handed out. Even a Traffic Cop / Highway Patrol Officer will ask the Driver why he was speeding when he was caught. And you always have the opportunity to take the matter to Court.

(But this could be a logistical nightmare to allow members to explain themselves). And at the end of the day, it's a privately owned forum.

On two other occasions I was issued infractions which I politely questioned. The mods looked into them and found that they had erroneously been given to me by mistake and were meant for someone else. Both mods reversed the actions and apologized.

Staying Ding Free (sounds like it should come in a spray can) is easy if you play nice.

Just imagine all the stuff that ends up on the cutting room floor that we don't see.
