Yeah... The RSA is about it.
Dry Fire it a couple times to see how smooth the factory trigger is.
If it's smooth with no grit, the original owner either did an Apex kit, or broke it in very nicely for you.
Since NEW Shields are going for about $340 now online (plus FFL Fees), see if they'll come down to $275 for the Pre-Owned one.
Don't forget to check the trigger re-set. During the early production of the Shields, Smith & Wesson listed a notice to owners on their webpage and showed the procedure to do a voluntary inspection check. If it failed you were to return the gun to them. If its not still on their homepage you should be able to find the info on it fairly easily by doing an internet search.
thanks for the info...i was not aware of this.
As for pricing...right now in Vermont they sell for $419 plus tax...so $440ish. But if the gun is excessively dirty or shows signs of much wear i will discuss a price reduction, or walk away.
picture looks pretty clean.

From the pic, it looks pretty clean. Didn't realize they were selling for close to retail in Vermont. It'll be your call when you have a chance to see it first hand. Hopefully it will include the box and accessories. Good luck![]()
Please help, what is RSA?
...
But i had a little be of a struggle when i tried to reassemble the gun after cleaning. I could not get the slide stop to engage the slide and hold it open to allow me to raise the slide release lever.
...
I took it apart several times and most times the slide release would catch, but a few more times it would not.
Is this just a little quirk with the gun?
Any hints on assembly ?
