I am this many old...

I've got a couple birth month guns, April, 1948, but not one that shipped on my birth day. Still looking though. I hope YOUR day was a good one.

Happy birthday Bd. Who did the butt swivel? That's pretty cool.

I am not sure who actually installed the swivel, but it is the reason I was actually aware of it's ship date.

Ok, here is the back story.

A gentleman here on the forum inquired as to the 'install' of the lanyard ring regarding it's factory authentication.

As usual on these inquiries it was suggested he have it 'lettered'.

Months later, and upon receiving the letter from Roy, the information on the letter noted the ship date.

No, the lanyard was not on the gun when it shipped.

Yes, the gun shipped from the factory on the date of my birth.

I contacted the gentleman regarding my being able to acquire this gun and he was gracious enough to allow that to happen.

I received the gun just a few days before my 65th birthday and was able to celebrate together our 65th birthday. And, yes, I shot the gun on 'our' birthday.

Now I don't have to go searching for Birth Year gun. :D

I do know the exact time I was delivered. Sadly, Dr. Jinks could only produce the exact day.

Don't know if I had ever divulged this tidbit of info before. The K22 falls right in the middle of my 'search and seizures' of all things Smith and Wesson and always has.

And, thanx for all the Birthday Wishes.

Happy Birthday Bruce!

I heard on the Sunday morning show today that more people are born on Sept 9th than any other day of the year.

Least common is Dec 25th

That statistic vetted out my thought that in the middle of the last century global warming wasn't front and center, because it was damn cold in January. Hence the September babies.

Of course being born in Minnesota just supports my theorem on those events. 'Cause baby it's cold outside. :D

Yep, and people have to do something to stay warm.;)

Happy birthday from a fellow 72. Nice Smith. Like the lanyard ring, I bought a Colt Police Positive because it had a lanyard ring. Still have it. Don't eat too much cake.

A Belated Happy Birthday bd and to your K-22 as well!
You accomplished what I have been trying for 12 years: getting a year, month and day S&W. I have four month/year guns but I am over or under on the day. I'll be 76 this November so there's still a channce... LOL.
This is one of my "close ones":
