I am this many old...

Happy Birthday from a soon to be 73-year-old!
If you're in as good a shape as that revolver, you're doing well! In any case, enjoy that revolver and enjoy the day!

Happy Birthday and congratulations! :D

I've been searching for years and can't even come up with a gun from the same year as me. You got one from your actual birthday! WOW! ;)

Congratulations on your Birthday Gun! Very nice. I purchased a K-38 Masterpiece from a forum member a couple of years ago. Later, when I received the letter from Roy, I learned that the gun was shipped from the factory on 9/14/1950 to a hardware store in Portland,OR. I feel that there is a good chance that the revolver arrived in Portland on or near the same day that I arrived in Texas on 9/22/1950!

Two of my granddaughters have had "discussions" regarding which one gets to own the K-38 someday! :)

I can see two solutions: Either get another nice K-38 or get rid of one Granddaughter! Be very public about solution #2, they will try their hardest to please you! (I've got 4 granddaughters, Life IS good!)

I was fortunate to find, through David Carroll, many years ago a birth year 99% K-22 with box. It was bought with money my Mother gave me to buy myself something nice, so I went on the search for at least a birth year K-22. Never found a birthday gun, though. Great find, and it never hurts to ask.
Happy belated birthday, you two.

Ever since you started this thread bd, I keep thinking of when my kids were 3 years old or so. When someone asked them how old they were the little ones would hold up three fingers and say "I'm this many." Great memories.

So it appears to be purely happen-stance that you find a birthday gun. Is there anything you can do to increase your odds of finding one?

Happy Birthday and a beautiful S&W.... I feel surrounded by old ... well anyway, I become 70 in January and I feel like a young "Whipper-snapper" among this crowd... God bless us all!
