Last night the wife and I were talking about Chris Kyle. She was reading on the internet about him, and came across somethings people were saying about him.

She came across people saying things like. He was an "American Terrorist" , and "He got what he deserved" or "he got what was coming to him".

Now I'd like to think these were just comments made by some Taliban supporter. I hate to think it is just some everyday misguided American. I am unsure of where she read this nor do I care. If I would have joined this conversation I would have been banned and my voice not counted anyway. It sickens me that that kind of meadly mouthing ignorant bs is allowed to be said in this country with no repercussion.

Don't get me wrong I love our freedoms and rights. When someone speaks those words about one of our Heros there should be a consequence. It is people like Chris Kyle that make this the greatest country in the world, and allow us to keep our freedoms.

I am not so nieve to think that our Government always tells us the truth. I don't think we should always go along with what they tell us. Although someone casting their derogatory comments against our Veterans should be considered some sort of act of treason.

Our society has become soft and considerate of every ones opinion whether it be positive or negative. I don't feel these people understand what is means of us to have these rights and freedoms. They will never put their selves in harms way for other Americans that they have never met. The only thing they will stand for is what directly betters them, like $20 minimum wage and legalizing pot.

Is this the direction of our Country? To deface the goodness of our Military men and women. Are we going back to the 70's to call they "baby killers"? I for one need not hear any of these words coming out of someones mouth in person. It would not be a good day for either of us.

I think I'm done for now.

You always have know nothing idiots spouting off just so they can be heard. Don't draw any conclusions based on a couple miscreants!

The amount of misinformation I have come across on the internet is totally mind boggling, but yet you see it everyday, everywhere and many people believe everything they read and pass it along.:(

People like Chris Kyle would vigorously defend the right of these people to say anything that they would like about him and others like him, no matter how stupid it sounds or how disgusting it is.

Remind them of that - then leave the page or area; there is nothing else to be said or done.

The media seems obsessed with reporting that he was killed at a shooting range, probably to advance their anti-gun agenda.

One talking head vacillated between calling him a SEAL and a Marine.

I understand exactly where you're coming from fella. But remember that old saying... "if I have to explain it to you, you just won't get it". ~hmm. I find myself thinking that alot lately.

Although most americans I believe appreciate what he did for our country, I also know a lot of the guys/gals on this forum are "X" military folks like myself and truly appreciate the missions he went out on (e.g.NOT back at home base/safety zone). Few know he was hit twice, once in the chest (had his kevlar vest on) and once a bullet his this glasses he had on with no injuries to himself. He sure did see his full of war.

People have always bashed police, and they will always bash the military as well. If they are doing something not popular...

Blame the government that sent them there, not the poor *** holding the rifle. Know a guy who went through hell in vietnam and when he got back (while being carried off a plain on a stretcher) had a protester spit in his face and call him a baby killer.... The story goes it took a MP hitting him in the face with a rifle to get his hand off the protesters throat.

The headline I noticed was one that said he was killed with a semi-automatic pistol. So? Why is that important? It is completely obvious what the agenda is here.

On Yahoo news one of the first blog replies was "Live buy the gun, die by the gun." Then several people ripped that guy a new one.

Trained snipers save innumerable lives by taking out enemies from long distance before they can engage a body of soldiers. People want to be safe, they just really don't want to know what it takes to keep them safe.

How much of the comment was from those who hated him for being an armed American, and how much for him being a sniper? You might be surprised how many folk find the idea of snipers totally unacceptable. In fact, the US military has not always been a fan of the skill and discontinued its sniper training immediately after WWII. This was due to a feeling that sniping (or hunting humans as some call it) was a dubious form of warfare.

Snipers are and always will be an essential support, defensive and offensive part of a battle unit and though the US military were not supportive in the past I think guys like Alvin York and Carlos Hathcock turned that around to get the snipers where they are today....

The "live by the sword, die by the sword" comment was tweeted by none other than Ron Paul. I'll stop there to avoid thread-lock.

People have always been stupid, the internet has just made them easier to find. Look back in history at the slanderous stuff politicos used to say about each other in pamphlets handed out in the village square.

I saw that today as well....I do believe it was taken out of context.

Also, hyped for the net as well........

Jest goes to show ya....Everthing on the net is..........Not always accurate.

.
With that being said, Never the Less, Two good men have lost their lives.

May they Rest in Peace. Prayers for family & Friends.

As for the one that killed those good men....May God have mercy on his soul.

Oh yes the sword comment was the other one I was trying to remember. I considered the person it came from, and is my feeling that he is a few bricks shy of a load anyways. It goes with out saying he would not have had my vote in '12.

Thanks for not getting political guys.

He is and always will be a true American Hero. Thank God for him and others alike.
