I called S&W Customer service today about SN's.

Have you DTU7*** threaded barrel version folks had any issues? FTF, FTE, Extractors??? I just picked one up and will be testing it soon. Its the A1 version, blue star on back of manual.

I got DTU so far shot 200 rd no problems at all love this gun. Did you just get one? You having problems? Did you have a star stamp on the back of your manual?

I found another member on this forum with a serial number starting with DTU5*** that had to be sent back to S&W for issues. Extractor issue.

Well, I spoke S&W customer service today. He states that the SN's have nothing to do with the suspected known issues. He stated that the good vs broken mp22's that come back to them are very one sited. Meaning that there are very little that comeback for ftf,fte and extractor issues in comparison to how many they have sold and are good to go with no issues. But keep in mind less people will join a forum to report good things. They will normally join to report problems.

IMO, S&W is babbling.

To begin with, lot's of rifles are purchased and not fired or fired very little for a significant length of time (and the 15-22 rifle hasn't been out that long). Secondly, lots of these rifles have cycling issue but have not been returned. And.... here is something that made me laugh like heck..... The S&W rep who came by Carter's shooting in Harrison, TN to demonstrate the 15-22 couldn't get his 15-22 to work worth a darn. Carters finally told the guy when he had a rifle that worked to come back... I know that's just anecdotal... but if a sales rep doesn't even have a decent rifle that's about as pathetic as it gets.

Well, I just ran 555 rounds of winchester jacked hollow point through my DTU7*** and I am happy to report back that I only had 5 ftf's out of the 555.

I have DTU4*** with blue star on manual and just got finished with 200 rounds without one failure. 100 rounds were fast fire. Oh yeah all were CCI. This gun rocks! Can't wait to mount the red dot. Only thing I don't like is the magazine is a retrofit ten round compliant that has no assist to help load. Very rough on the fingers. What they did was retrofit the 25 round mags to get the compliant guns out the door. I'll just have to wait till the correct ten rounders come in.
