G23 99% of the time b/c I have carried one for the past 18 yrs. I have the utmost confidence with it and in it. I forget I am wearing it. 642 the other 1% of the time when the G23 is a bit too big for the clothes/situation.

I recently started carrying the Shield 40, because it is so compact, light, and accurate. My real love though is for the Smith 357's, and I'm very excited to pick up my 627 (winter carry) this weekend.

I carry a 2.5" 686+ and a 3.5" colt 1911 officers ACP.

90% of the time since 1990 some version of the S&W 3913/14/NL....I still tend to carry a revolver as a woods gun....... 3" 66 or 3" 60-10 think micro 686.

I typically carry a jframe (642 or 442), but when the mood hits me I switch over to a colt defender or gov't model. I like having different options to choose from. If you like the shield in a .45, I think you should give it a try and see how it works for you (you can always switch back if you don't like it or carry both ).
