I changed the red dot on my Model 41

I was never happy with my cheap red dot on my Model 41. It was not an elegant mount and, although it was serviceable, I never was happy with it.

So I looked around for a mount to fit the rear dovetail. It was suggested here that I look into BME up in Vermont. I called and he made me one. It took a little trimming but I finally got it to fit.

I mounted a Burris FastFire II on it, which is a far better red dot than the one I had on it.

I've been to the range with it a few times and it is a great combination. It is more reliable, more accurate and acquisition is faster. My times are a bit better for a five shot string too. I like the position (rear) better than the middle position I had previously. I don't understand the 'middle' vs 'rear' positioning, but so far the rear position works for me.

Anyone have any input?
TIA,
Mike

Mike, that looks great! Which BME mount did you end up using (lots to choose from!). I'm thinking hard on doing this with a FastFire III when they come out on a 5.5" Barrel on my 41 and keeping my 7" an iron sight setup but we'll see.

Nice work and thanks for sharing!
