I was never happy with my cheap red dot on my Model 41. It was not an elegant mount and, although it was serviceable, I never was happy with it.
So I looked around for a mount to fit the rear dovetail. It was suggested here that I look into BME up in Vermont. I called and he made me one. It took a little trimming but I finally got it to fit.
I mounted a Burris FastFire II on it, which is a far better red dot than the one I had on it.
I've been to the range with it a few times and it is a great combination. It is more reliable, more accurate and acquisition is faster. My times are a bit better for a five shot string too. I like the position (rear) better than the middle position I had previously. I don't understand the 'middle' vs 'rear' positioning, but so far the rear position works for me.
Anyone have any input?
TIA,
Mike
