It went like this:

I saw a rifle that I really wanted--Kimber 84M in .257 Roberts with gorgeous wood. Alas, after a year on this Forum I still retained the capacity for some rational thought, and it was my downfall. I reasoned that because I do not hunt, and because I already had a rifle in this caliber, I could let this beauty go to another bidder. Kimber 84M classic select 257 roberts french walnu : Bolt Action Rifles at GunBroker.com

I am so ashamed.

You only live once........................'Nuff said............

"Reason"????.whats reason got to do with it??. Now "it followed me home" or it took pity on the poor thing" or I just could not live without it". or "just had to have it". Heck just gave you 4 good reasons for buying another firearm. Frank

Here I go and bare my soul after a miserable failure , , ,
And you guys give me grief instead of empathy.

There are plently of people I could go to for sarcasm and a beatdown if that's what I needed.

I was hoping I could tap into the softer side of the S-W Forum.

Dont worry they'll be another one, there always is.

It certainly had beautiful wood. However i believe you did the
right thing. It's always more fun to buy a new caliber. That way
you can justify buying all new tooling for reloading. Dies, Bullets,
Brass, powder, etc.....

You obviously have not spent enough time on this forum.:)

I am sorry for your loss. I know how you must feel. The .257 Roberts is one of the best deer calibres going. The stock on that rifle was stunning and Kimber simply cannot be beat for quality. You must be devastated.

There, feel better.........dummy?:)

The worst part is that I must go through life knowing that by failing to live up to the lofty ideals of this Forum I have let my brothers and sisters down.

Yes my brother, the first step in the 12 steps to rid yourself of an addiction is to admit you have a problem.
You did good, unlike myself who backslide this weekend and bought a K frame snub.
