Well, I guess I'm a sucker for an all-steel forged 1911 resembling another one that our GI's carried at one time or another, (that I can afford). Last year I stole a US Army Tisas in standard US configuration that works like a dream for $318 OTD. Now they came out with a copy of the Marines M45A1 called the Raider and I had to get one. These things are built like tanks and reviews are simply amazing, as is mine. Hope you like it. Dave :)

Forgot to add, I paid $550 OTD from Family Firearms for the Raider.

I need another 1911 like I need another wife, but all these Tisa posts are going to make me buy one.

Or as I've told people, 'I need another one as much as I need a third nostril in the middle of my fore head' . . . but I've been jonesing for one of the Tank Commander models. I'm trying to conquer that addiction - truly nothing more than a "want" rather than a "need". But when I see an all steel Combat Commander clone for a third or less than I'd pay for another Colt . . . :(:p

Congrats. Tisas 1911's are the Norincos of our time. A decade hence people are going to be moaning that they missed the boat, just like 2 cent primers.

On a similar note, Aim Surplus keeps having LEO trade in Glock 21's (45acp) for under $400. I buy one every time the wife will sit still for it...

I have two Tisas, a Tanker in .45 and a Carry in 9mm. Have a couple hundred rounds through each with no issues. Have dressed up the .45 a little with a compensator and some red/black G10 grips. They are just solid well made guns and shoot very well.

No surprises at the range this afternoon fellas, except for the snow flurries! Ran like a dream on the stock mags and White Box 230 FMJ. The trigger is very light and actually surprised me at first, wow! Nothing for me to do with the trigger on this one. The extractor may need a touch of tuning, but nothing spectacular. Unbelievable for the price!!! Thanks for the kind comments and sharing your Tisas experience. :)

How many of you guys have looked into the company, TISAS TRABZON SILAH SANAYI ANONIM SIRKETI, aka: Tisas?
You'll have to dig deeper than the "cut & paste" word-candy that pops up on a quickie online search.
In addition to selling budget priced guns to the US consumer leisure market (where "cheap" is king), they are a military weapons manufacturer/contractor to some of the worst beligerent nations in the world.
The details are not pretty.
Enjoy your new toy.

That's no different than our White House sending billions to Ukraine and China and Iran. We are existing in a global economy where even parts used to fix our own bodies could be made just about anywhere. I bet you are typing your bias on a Chinese computer or phone too. Wake up and smell the roses. :D

Hummm. Maybe I won't google them after all. Of course I'm a ultra conservative and I won't buy a freaking toyota either.

Fantastic pistols:

These two have been 100% reliable over hundreds of rounds. Forged frame and slide, all machined internals with no MIM, phenomenal build quality throughout.

Off the charts value!!!

Until fairly recently Tisas did use MIM small parts in their 1911 platform pistols. I know that my 1911A1 US Army .45 is old enough that it does have MIM parts. So far, ( knock on wood ) none have failed. I too am thinking of adding another Tisas 1911, either the Service, Tanker, Tank Commander or Stakeout. Of them all it's my opinion that the Stakeout ( $329.99 at Family Firearms ) is likely the best " bang for buck " but I'm not really a beavertail fan. Glenn, that cartridge box is neat. What's the story on it ?

Tisas 1911A1 US Army .45 acp. 5 shot rapid fire " Quint Tap " from 7 yards just a couple weeks ago. S&B 230 gr. FMJ. I'm no great marksman by any means. It's just an inexpensive range buddy & lap companion for anything WW1-Vietnam for shows & movies on tv.
