when I went into my local LGS/range last week, in the used case there was a Model 38 no dash, which I had to see. Looked at it for a few minutes, and decided to buy it. A friend of mine who works there was going to buy it if I didn't. Here are a few pictures:

It is a flat latch, no dash, with matching number diamond magna grips and a six digit serial number, 3115xx. Most of the wear is on the backstrap, and I understand it was a BUG for a local police office. I figured they certainly weren't making any more, and for $323 out the door, I couldn't get hurt too bad. Fits right in with my other 'j''s.

Nice find!

It's funny how most of our "J" frame stories start out with "in the used case there was" (fill in the blank).

I swear, they see us pull up in the parking lot, take it out of the safe, put it under the glass, and walk you right over to it! Do you ever notice, one of those gun mats are right near by?:)

I came across a really nice no dash with the newer style latch in great shape, but had to have a magnum for that one.

Love Hummpies...my favorite .38 Snubbies....

I have two...a Michigan State Police 38 with stainless cylinder. The other is a 649 that has been rechambered and milled by TK Custom to also shoot 9mm and .38 Super in moon clips...

649...I think this is my favorite Snubbie of all time...

My friend carries a 649 Magnum...really nice gun...

I had a model 38 and let it go (Yeah, I'm an idiot). However found another one LNIB so someone is watching over me. I'm always on the look out for another humpie! I'll post pic's soon.
