For the last few months, when I walk my dog in the morning I've been seeing a huge Ring Tailed ? hawk flying to a nest in a tree in my neighbor's yard. Lately, both the male and female hawks have been sitting on limbs outside the nest so I'm assuming the babies have hatched and parents are hunting/feeding them. Hubby has a drone. A $1200 toy that he never flies. So about a week ago I asked him if he would fly the drone up above the tree and see if we can see if there are babies in the nest. He got out the drone and it wouldn't work because DJI had changed the phone software. After 3 hours of research and downloads he gets the drone to come on. But the battery is no longer any good since it has deteriorated. So he ordered a $200 battery from Amazon that came yesterday. This afternoon, he flies up to see the nest and he hangs the drone up in the tree. Now the drone is precariously hanging in the tree over the sidewalk. Liability issue. It's getting dark outside. The tree service can't come until tomorrow ($350 min charge) and our yard boy wants to let his kid climb the tree. The drone, won't survive a fall. I want to shoot the limb until it falls, but it's against the law to discharge a firearm in the city limits. I don't know any bow hunters or spear fishermen. What I do know is I'm getting a new $1800+ gun.
