I Hate facebook! Rant

I think its Robbery to charge to have ads removed. Thats like a place a business charging customers extra to get good service vs bad services.

You aren't paying to remove the ads, you are paying to support the forum. Removing the ads is just their way of saying thanks. Otherwise, feel free to use the forum that others have subsidized to your heart's content.

I have friends in many other states and countries. FB allows easy access in maintaining communication with distant friends that I enjoy...when I'm not banned from FB for a gun post. Not sure how much longer I'm going to stick around on FB though. We may part ways eventually.

And I have ZERO problems with supporting this forum financially. I have been here 10 years this month and have more than gotten my money's worth.

I came off if a few months ago. Everyone's a politician and the worlds gone PC crazy. I'm neither so don't fit in.

I had it for about 6 months and that was over two years ago. Don't hate it but don't like it. And deffently have no need for it.

Friends don't let friends buy Taurus.

It isn't FaceBook, it's a scam, as stated. For the cheapskate friendly price of about 8 cents a day you can get rid of all those ads. A line from "Dances With Wolves" comes to mind....

"Good trade!"

Don't hate it just don't use it. Never will. The only downside is one of my favorite sites was the USS LCI site and they moved their blog to facebook. So don't go there anymore. Price of progress I guess.

I look at facebook several times a week for a couple minutes just to see pictures of friends and family members. I hardly ever make a comment but I will hit the "like" button or wish someone happy birthday. When Facebook had a "guns for sale" website I sold several guns and made some nice profit, a lot more profit than on other internet message boards.

Regarding my wife's FB account (which basically has no information about her beyond her name), there are hundreds (no exaggeration) of people who want to be her friend. We have never heard of any of them, no intention of becoming friends with any of them. Who are these people?

A lot of the people who send out friend requests are fake accounts and they are trying to make themselves look legit by having a lot of friends. You can set your permissions to only get freind requests from "freinds of friends" so at least you know they are in your circle. You can also limit how your name comes up in a search. They have gotten better about protecting information from the general public.

Or you can merely check out who people are/know BEFORE accepting the friend request... It's pretty easy, really. :)
