I hate my boat

When they last ten years and don't have any engine trouble and get you back to the dock, every time..............

I think it is worth the money to replace the old leather tops, etc.......
that are sun bleached and maybe think about new batteries and bilge pumps.

The cost of a boat is way cheaper than having to go Hire a skipper to take you fishing, that might start at $175 for 4 hours or $888 a day.

I've owned at least 1/2 dozen boats, and none were new. I enjoyed tinkering with them and every minute spent on the water. (well, there was that one time I lost my forward drive gear and had to back up all the way to the ramp, and use the trolling motor to trailer it)

But some 25 years later I sold my last one, with pleasure.

I must be getting senile, because I'm now thinking about getting a small fishing boat for a nearby "trolling motor only" lake.

How bad could that be???? I am second guessing myself a lot..............

Don't forget personal property taxes license fees parking spaces etc etc If you enjoy your boat thats fine with me but for the brief period I owned one I seriously considered either burning it or setting it adrift in a big river and shooting it until it sank. Instead I sold it so some other fool could have all that fun

Caje.. so sorry about your first world 1 percent aggravations...
now if only my engine parts would get delivered to the machine shop I could get my vintage race car back to the track... hopefully by next spring...

A bottomless hole in the water surrounded by fiberglass (or, worse yet, wood) into which you pour time and money just to get a few minutes away from the dang telephone. MHO

You must not be too good at fishing ??

Fresh 30-60 pound King salmon, lake Kokanee, 10 lb Cutthroat and all the warmwater fish ..........
pay for themselves when you look at store prices.

Nothin like Catfish and hush puppies.

Want fresh fish?
Get a boat, as the bait presentation is better.

A kayak that you can carry with one hand.
All tackle in a custom life vest with pistol.
Rod & Reel.
Bait bucket behind cockpit.
Folding anchor with line & chain.... fore & aft chocks
Extra two piece paddle.
Hand held VHF.
Air horn.
Catch 'em up ..... South Florida Eskimo style. :D

Donated my 21 year old boat a few months ago to Miracle Hill Ministries. It was a garage kept 20 footer with a 200hp Mercury. I had a ton of great times in it. Fished every Saturday and many Sunday's for most of those years. I definitely got my money's worth out of it! My health now did not let me continue to use it like I had in the past.
