Dear Smith and Wesson Forum i have a question about world war one handguns. Aside from the Smith and Wesson model 1917 .45 caliber revolver, did the Smith and Wesson gun company supply the U.S. military with any other handguns? any and all help in answering this question would be greatly appreciated sincerely and respectfully mg357 a proud member of the Smith and Wesson Forum

MG:

During the US involvement in WW1 (1917-1918) Smith & Wesson did not supply any completed firearms to US Forces other than the Model of 1917 .45 revolver.

MG, Charlie's answer is correct insofar as what S&W supplied during WW1, however there were units, mostly militia and Nat'l Guard, that still had in their armories the model 1899 Military revolvers. Ed.
