I realy like the look of unfluted cylinders, so I decided to get one in 3",4",5", &6" barrels and I have now been able to do that. The 3" is a -6, the 4" is -3, the 5" is a -6 & the 6" is a -3 what do you think?
Very nice! Everytime I run across an unfluted for sale, I stop and think. But there's always something else a bit further up on my wish list. One day I'll have one though! Looking at your pic, it may have just moved up a notch on the list!
Those are "all business" looking revolvers.
I have some non-fluted 44 magnum Rugers and they are the ones to shoot the "hot & heavy" loads in.
I bet those will tack drivers if you do your part!
I saw a nice unfluted 6"686. at a local store, Chimo Guns in Wasilla AK.I have too many other priorities (N frames)to look closer.
I'll bird dog it for someone if they are seriously interested.
Disclaimer; It's not mine, I do business w/ Chimo, but I ain't shilling for them by any means.

I too like the look of the unfluted cylinder.........plus it's easier to clean!
Only have a pic of one out of two that I currently have however, a 686, the other is a 610.
This one I sent back to the factory for the cylinder, it came with the fluted from S&W originally. I like the look and this is most assuredly the proverbial 'tack driver'.
I have heard of the 617 with a unfluted cylinder, I would dearly love to get my hands on one!! (If you have one or know of someone that does, I'm more than interested.)
IIRC, it was in the $135 neighborhood, plus shipping each way.........so for about $170ish total, I got the unfluted installed. That was about three years ago.
