I hope the NRA rises from the ashes like the Phoenix

Allow me to remind you:

WE ARE PRO NRA
We support The National Rifle Association. We believe The NRA is the biggest and best dog in the fight to protect gun rights and the Second Amendment. You may not believe that, but this board is not your platform for NRA bashing.
In plain terms: NRA bashing is NOT allowed. Take it somewhere else.
If you can't understand or abide by what was said in the above quote, I strongly suggest you refrain from posting in this thread.

As a long term NRA member, certified RSO and 5 discipline certified instructor, I support the NRA. I just wish it could be, and hopefully will become, what it used to be before the corruption.
Change and rebuilding of its board and leadership are needed.

Without the NRA, our gun rights would be long gone.
NO MORE REMINDERS. Think long and hard before you post...

Once ALL the trash is dumped, it'll be an interesting recovery.

Sad how some cannot resist temptation and cause honest
people problems.
They dug a deep hole.
Might be good to only have those with prior Military and/or
Law Enforcement service be eligible for the board......
after being vetted and polygraphed.
No draft dodgers or those with BS deferments need apply.

Starship Troopers is a military science fiction novel by American writer Robert A. Heinlein.

The story is set in a future society ruled by a human interstellar government dominated by a military elite called the Terran Federation. Under this system, only veterans of the military enjoy full citizenship, including the right to vote.

Any chance of getting Oliver North back in. I've always thought of him as a man of principle. I'd like to see him in a leadership role. Another desirable addition would be to get Tom Selleck back on the board and/or in a leadership role.

Additional thought: The ballot has a space for write-in names. How about writing in Oliver North and Tom Selleck. Both have held positions in the NRA previously. I sincerely believe they are both honorable men.

Do you know thar either of those guys are even interested in the job?
Whoever replaces Lapierre will have a bullseye on their back.
Even if they are honest.

Chad, I hope this comment passes muster:

I have been an NRA member since 1992, and a Life Member for most of that time. My sons have been Life Members since they were little boys. I do not belong to any other gun rights organization, and I will die an NRA member.

When I joined the NRA, it was non-partisan. Its sole focus was on gun rights, and supporting those who stood with us, regardless of political party. When the dust settles from this situation, I want the NRA to return to those non-partisan days.

The four reformers sound like a good place to start. If I can dig up a roster of the current board I will apply my normal organic term limits standard of never voting for an incumbent.

The NRA "ship" has sailed through some rough waters in past decades. Some will remember the effort of those in power to move the HQ to the Whittington Center in NM in the late 1970's. The ship righted itself in due time. With our support, it will do it again.

I'm an endowment life member and nra rso.

There is a guy named Rick Ector (Michigan) running for the board, that I will ask everyone to research and and vote for him.

His life revolves around firearms, he hosts a woman's first shots thing every year in the Detroit area, where ladies get a1/2 hour class, then 20 rounds on the range with an instructor in every lane and rso' watching 3 lanes, all for free (everyone volunteers and ammo is donated, guns are loaned).
He is an instructor, is on the news as a pro gun supporter very often, volunteers at and financially and supports pro gun events often etc. The last few years has been over a thousand ladies in 2 days at two separate range locations.

His business name isn't the best (Legally Armed In Detroit), but his intentions are good.

Before my time but it makes sense. NRA wasn't the lobbying powerhouse and the building at 1600 Rhode Island Ave wasn't the best. Move to New Mexico where the cost of living is lower and to be out there in the mountains would be nice.

All non-profits solicit endlessly. Also, you can stop the NRA solicitations with a simple phone call. I did it back in 1988 and I only get one mailing a year from NRA, ILA, or PVF.
