I JUST FIRED MY 5,OOOth ROUND OUT OF MY SIG P365

I've had my 365 about seven months. I don't count, but I know I have several thousand rounds through it. I have taken half a dozen classes with it, and it has been flawless. I carry it every day.

When I carried my M60-7 and Buffalo Bore +P's, it was literally a chore to practice with it. When I practice with the P365 I actually enjoy shooting it!

And that's the thing with me. It's why I'm going to switch out my Kimber micro9 for the Sig. I'm not comfortable shooting that Micro9. The beavertail grip starts stinging my hand after just a few rounds of full power carry ammo.

And it's really hard to maintain any kind of sight picture with the whip that thing has. I'm inclined not to practice with it because I'm not comfortable with it.

Not a good thing for a carry gun.

Funny old thing, but many car makers have gone back to timing chains, albeit double row pieces with sophisticated tensioners. I think this is driven by the fact that nobody builds "clearance" engines any more where the valves and pistons cannot meet even if the engine goes out of time. The search for efficiency has pushed up compression ratios so high you just cannot build clearance engines any more.

They’re referred to as interference motors. When valve is fully open it travels into path of piston which SHOULD BE at bottom of the cylinder at the time. Bad things happen if it’s not.

My next purchase is going to be a Sig P365 w/safety

A 365 MS is my go to whenever I need more asurance than my pocket LCP. If you have larger hands a Hogue Handall does a fine job of filling the grip. Mine has been flawless with all ammo.
Recently viewed an update 365 review by Hickock45 who now owns two of them and bought one for his son. Guy has hands the size of an NBA player that just dwarfs a 365, and still shoots the lights out of everything he points at.
Sometimes it's the archer and the bow.

I Bought one several weeks ago. I've only put 100 rounds of Winchester 124 grain white box cheepo ball ammo through it. No failures to fire or jams, but I've had the slide lock back with one round still in the magazine 3 times. All with the same magazine. I've got 5 other magazines I need to test to see if any of them do this. Anyone else had this happen?

The only time I handled a P365 the grip circumference seemed too small for my long fingered skinny hands. I'll have to rent one some day and see if I can shoot it.

Another extremely satisfied P365 owner over here. I too have about 10 mags, most of them with magguts internals and baseplates. The 365 is the best modern CCW pistol out there, reliability/accuracy/concealability/capacity (14+1) with magguts in the 12 round footprint…can’t beat it.

I’m probably at about 3k rounds through it without a malfunction that I can remember. Will probably change the recoil spring at 5k, but other than that I’ll just keep shooting and carrying it.

Nice review Chief. For many years, my go to carry was a Glock 26. 10+1, as reliable as the sunrise. Accurate too.

Then a buddy bought a P365, and I got some trigger time with it. Nice trigger, fit my hand better than the 26, and considerably less bulky, with the same mag capacity.

So I bought one. Been about 3 or 4 years now, and with about 1200 rounds thru it with complete reliability, it has replaced my 26 as my "go to" for concealed carry.

It is not a favorite at the range - I prefer 1911's and N frames, but it is a great CC weapon, and I shoot it enough to be good with it and satisfied with its reliability. Shoots dead to the sights with the 124 grain HST SV load.

I had a P365 (9mm of course) when they first came out. Maybe had 300 rounds through it when I sold it to fund another purchase. It seemed like it was going to be a good gun. About 6 months ago, I purchased a P365-380 and have maybe 150 rounds through it. Reliability so far, has not been one of its strengths (I am now reading that the 380 version has far more feeding issues than the 9mm version). I'll put another 150 through it to see if things improve, and if not, it will go bye-bye. Maybe I'll go back to the 9mm version.

Whenever I see someone write about the G26 and the P365 I immediately think of Mario Andretti’s famous reply to a press question about the differences between the Lotus 78 and the new 79, viz., if all went as expected the 78 would be “like a London Bus” compared to the new design. :D That’s about all I can say about the G26/P365 subject. :D

About 3000 rounds through my P365X. Not one problem. Love this pistol : next to my old Hi-Power, it's the best 9mm I've ever owned ( and I've owned a bunch ). :)

Chief you are making me feel like a slacker. 😳
I’ve had mine since 2-21 so 2 years. Carry it everyday and I hate to admit it but I really don’t know how many rounds I have through it. But it’s nowhere near that.
Really a great carry gun and I really like it.

Well, not only do I like to practice with my EDC gun, I actually really enjoy the accuracy, great sights, good trigger and low cost reloads. It's also a breeze to clean up afterwards.

I put a Hogue grip sleeve on mine because of what you mention. It made a big difference.

I’ve been pleasantly surprised with mine other than the SAS rear sight. I got the SAS model when it first came out and ended up not being a fan of the gimmicky sight. Thankfully you can take it off, slap a conversion plate in there and install a Sig Romeo zero.

Bought my P365 two weeks ago for possible pocket carry.

Front night sight tritium vile missing after 400 rounds in first week.
Second week and slide is returned for front sight repair.

Pistol and 10 rnd magazines were flawless. I had trouble, shooting low, but 400 rounds and now shooting point of aim ( combat sights)

Hope the front night sight fix is permanent as this gun is perfect size for pocket carry.

What does a 365 offer that my 6906 doesn't?
Randy

If the weight, size, and shape of your 6906 is no handicap for you, then I’d say the answer is nothing. Both guns do approximately the same job.

The P365 is significantly handier for me, the safety placement is better (IMO), and, the real stand out feature, the gun is much easier for me to shoot accurately. But, if I had a 6906 and I was well satisfied with it, I wouldn’t fret about getting the 365. In my case, I do have a 6906 but I wanted the 365 and I am happy I bought it. It’s a considerable improvement for me, but for others, maybe not so much.

The 3913/6906 are still great guns. It’s a shame the company makes no effort to properly support them. :(
