It's been a long time. Do you start folding to the left or right. Left, I think.

A flag in Alabama has been ripped down four times in three years, so the owners put up home security cameras. When it got a video of the flag being ripped down, it next caught a couple who stopped, picked up the flag and folded it. That's a really small gesture that means a great deal.:)

Hospital corners... could never get those down!

I was the "shoe aligner". :)

...when I was eleven years old...I attended Lincoln Elementary School in Denver...

...we had a sixth grade color guard and we would march out every morning to the cadence of a snare drum...put the flag up...

...then march back out in the afternoon and take it down...

...suppose any eleven year olds do that now?...

...guess a fella is getting old when his elementary school is 114 years old...

Folding the flag....

Folding the flag the right way is an emotional experience. Seeing it done sloppily is terrible. I lost a friend who was a WWII vet and the funeral home people did the flag folding. It made me angry that a vet would get such a crummy send off.:mad::mad:

Since my son was graduating High School, at several events the ROTC posted the flag. They were so crisp and respectful it made me feel really good.:D

I had to say something good to get the nasty taste of that first paragraph out of my mouth.
