... and found a man.

Yesterday afternoon, I picked up my son for an appointment. He's 16-1/2 and over 6' and 160 pounds, but he was still my baby.

However, yesterday he was wearing shorts and he had these man-hairy legs!

And to show off how he's been working out, he flexed his bicep and he had a man-muscle! Really! Not a kid-stringy type muscle, but a big round one!

And then he told me that after high school he is going into the military (I would assume Marine, because his dad and two uncles were Marines), and when he gets out, he will go to a police academy (his dad and uncle are retired police). :)

My baby is gone, but I do like the man I have started to see.

I really enjoyed it when ours flew the nest. Over a period of years I discovered that they also knew how to fly back to the nest. The stays are short now thank goodness.

Barb,
I sounds like you have one of the 20% of American youth "we" are looking for. I hope he keeps at it and maybe in a couple of years I might run across him if he end up in the Communications field. Congrats!!!

I appreciate the kind comments! It's weird though, seeing such a transformation when he's always been my little boy.

A job well done Mom!
And trust me if he's anything like every other Son, he still feels the same way about you too!

It has suprised me how fast my daughters are growing up. Then it dawned on me that I'm growing old as fast as they're growing up. Dang!

Wow- sorry and congrats

I am proud for you! My oldest is still a baby - 10 but his underarms stink and he's getting hairy. Where did my little "booger" go?
