The 45 is IMHO about the best combat and PD round in the world, but I fail to see the popularity of it as a woods gun.
I guess you are right about the LSWC, I shoot a lot of that in 357, 10 mm and 44, but jut never thought about it in 45ACP for some reason.Old,
There is where we differ. The old ACP, esp in Smith sixguns, is quite capable of throwing a 250 to 270 grain semi-wadcutter 900 fps or a bit more. Many (including me) feel that is highly adequte for big cats, deer, hogs, what have you.
Some of us like reloading the stubby little buggers too.
