I need a 12 step program

So after a few months of resisting looking on GunBroker I thought I had my firearm addiction under control. Then wham, I went online and saw a gorgeous Model 39 that I of course just had to have. Then wham, I convinced myself that I'd lived long enough without a Model 27. Then, and I know this is a Smithlover site and I'll probably take some heat for this one, but I really thought I needed to try one of those 6.75" Raging Hunters. Yup. Done.

Next on my wish list is a Model 35. I need another .22 plinker like I need a hole in the head but I'll probably find the "perfect" Model 35 and convince myself that I can afford it. Man these things really are like potato chips. It's impossible to buy just one.

I’ve come to the realization that I’m an “accumulator” rather than a collector and cannot possibly shoot everything that I own on a regular basis.

Got 2K back from Government about a month ago and one of the hardest things have ever done is to hang on to that cash and not spend it on guns. Every time I drive by my gun dealer my car wants to turn in to just see what they have or I find myself on one of the gun sites just to look. Be strong I tell myself but it is so hand and I just gave my son 6 guns to get them out of the safe so I sure don't need another one.

Here are my model 35’s

Taurus is making good revolvers these days. Triggers are a little stiff but they can be lightened. Another "off brand" I've done well with is the Rock Island AL9.0.
It's actually made by Alpha Proj in the Czech Republic. I'd stay away from the junk Rock Island manufactures in The Philippines but the Alpha Proj guns are excellent.

And what's a K-38 without a K-22? And don't forget the .38/44 Outdoorsman.

If you have a 43 you need the 51 to go with it. If you have a 63 you need the 651.

And if you have a Chief's Special then the Chief's Special Target is a must have. My God, it just never ends.

No, they're some truth to that. But you have to play the long game.

I picked up 2 Russian AK's, a 7.62 and a 5.45 shortly after the 2016 election. Dirt cheap. $599 each.

Sold both for over 2k each.

Ditto Marlin 336 JM marked. Paid $299, sold for $425.

This isn't going to happen to every gun you but. A Raven 25 isn't going to double in 10 years.

But some of the Smiths I have did. I have a LNIB 686 4" with tools and papers. I paid $335 for it.

I'd get double or more today.

But that one is not for sale

Sold down my collection anticipating a deployment - because of the current market, I made good money on every firearm, even a still-available Ruger 77/357. It's the times.

While I haven't owned one for a long time I still consider the Ruger No.1 to be the sexiest rifle ever made.
