I need a strain screw for a 629-6

Went to install a WOLFF spring kit in my 629-6, and noticed the previous owner shortened the strain screw.

Does anyone know if a screw for a 629-2 will fit ?

Not sure, but you could call the techs at brownells, they would know

I was amazed to hear Brownells tell me they don't have it.

I called S&W and they are sending one out FREE

You can always use a 8-32 socket head set screw. I have a 1/2" one in my 686-6, and if I am not mistaken, the 629-6 and 686-6 use the same strain screw. Just cut it to the length of the original strain screw sans head. Or keep it longer; you can tune it this way, then use green Loktite to hold it in.
