All we have here in Alabama is a sheet of paper filled out by the sheriff and signed by me. No fancy Schmancy picture ID's.

In Pennsylvania, I got my permit within 10 minutes. All it is is a sheet of paper with the sheriff's seal embossed into it. They made me a reduction (also with a seal) that fits in my wallet. Photo is optional (mine doesn't have it).

Apparently they have so many people applying for permits where I live there days, that appointment are given out several weeks after submitting your paperwork. I have my appointment to get my state permit on 4/28.

I think that on the day I carry a concealed handgun for the first time, I will say a prayer that I never have to draw it in self defense or in defense of another.

Should have my renewed FL license soon. When I originally got one, it was because Texas did not have reciprocity with Colorado and Florida did. We now have reciprocity with about everyone Florida does, but I didn't want to be without my Charles Bronson permit!

With the Charles Bronson endorsement you MUST go and find a 475 Wildey Magnum (Death Wish 3, I think).

I've got 6 of'em. Alabama, Connecticut, Florida, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, and Maine. All of them have picture ID's except Alabama and Pennsylvania which are on a piece of paper. At least the lady that renewed my Alabama permit laminated it the last time.

Firehouse, how old is your Alabama permit? I've seen a few new ones that are a photo card that looks like our drivers license. Mine is still paper but is up for renewal in June, I guess we'll have to start smiling when we go in!

I saw a course at the range/gunstore for the Utah permit.

I think they wanted $100. Probably worth it.
