A while back I sold my 4506 to another member of the board.
The local gunshop now has one with adjustible sights and the old style trigger guard.
It is a 4506 with no dash.
Can someone tell me when #TEU**** might have been made?

A 4506, old style trigger guard and no dash should be around 1986-1987. I had one of those, and it was the best .45 I ever had.

I don't have the book, but I think it may be a little later....'89-'91....As I remember, the Squared Trigger was ofered for about 18 months max.....Zebulon....not that a couple months really matters.....................

I had one that I bought new in 89' that ha the squared guard. I seem to recall that those models were available from late 88' to 91'. The 645 was available till 88' which is the gun that the 4506 was based on.

Here's a pic of mine, picked it up a few months back used but in great shape.

I just saw a 4506 with the square trigger guard today,It's just a little big for what I want, and the dealer wanted $450.00,which I thought was a tad much.

I love those big Smiths but they ARE BIG!!! At least you feel like you got some GUN for your money......! Zebulon

That certainly NRVER stopped Me I only have three. an early 645, 1 of the first 100 4506, marked 645 on the frame, and a N.I.B. 4506 no dash with adjustable sights....How could you not?
