I just picked up a like new RSR 6690 and went straight to the range. I really hate the 3rd Gens! They shoot to point of aim, the sights are clear, they shoot anything and everything, and I couldn't make it malfunction to save my life. I guess I'll keep it.
I'm not that familiar with the 6690 or RSR, but for $275 OTD, and with the performance it has displayed already, I'm inclined to believe it has to be well built. It is a DA/SA with a de-cocker/safety and a magazine disconnect. Not thrilled about the disconnect, but for now it's not a deal breaker. This 9mm shoots as soft as any I've seen for a while, and the finish is pristine. As soon as the battery for the camera charges, I'll get some pics.
From your stand point, was this a decent deal?
