I was at a gun store not too far from me taking possession of an AR pattern lower. While the owner was doing his part of the paperwork and calling in the NICS I looked into the handgun cases. Mostly stuff I wasn't interested in, but then my eye caught sight of gray colored grips.

I looked more closely and it was a very nice 3913LS. I didn't ask to see it. I didn't ask to hold it. I didn't ask how much they'd take for cash.

Of course four days later it's still on my mind, but I think I'll be able to resist it.

Maybe.

Why would you WANT to "resist temptation" ??? What, you just want to leave that 3913......for some darned Philistine (just looking for a cheap pistol) to get his/her grimy mitts on it ?

Sacrilege, I say !!!

We all must do our parts to protect the sacred 3rd Gens from the great unwashed masses !

Now, go and get that 3913.....and treasure it always !!!

:D

(Sorry.....got a little carried away there.)

I don't think I will. I have a 3913, the TSW, and a 3914NL. If I knew someone looking for one, I'd point them to the shop and tell them to go get it.

I've only done transfers at this place, so I don't now how much negotiating they do on price.

Besides I have to put money aside for another AR upper.

A lady smith.........I thought the LS stood for long slide! The only semi-autos I shoot are 1911's.

Maybe it's time to expand your semi-auto experience. 1911s are nice ( I have a few, and just ordered a SR1911 commander) but I find 3rd Gens more addicting. I too was once a follower of he prophet (col J D Cooper) of the church of JMB. 3d gen Smiths, Beretta and Sig saved me from the narrow mindedness I had fallen into. Try one you may like it.

I am actually looking for one of these for my wife. .....If your not interested of course.

some 3rd gens have alloy frames, but basically they are all metal and not plastic

This is exactly why I choose to stick with .40 only. Expanding into the 9mm realm would offer too much temptation....too many options...too much to think about.:D

It's hard enough not to drool over duplicating 4040PDs and Shorty 40s and to start thinking about how a .45 or two might not be a bad investment, and and and.....

And don't even get me started on Rugers, H&Ks, Sigs, Berettas, and such! S&W gives me more than enough to occupy my attention, and besides, why not just stick with the best?:D
