Swapped out my Barska for a Bushnell Trophy 1X32. I am shooting WAY better. I'm going to put the Barska on another rifle to see what happens. I have to admit my accuracy problems were with the scope............

I have two current production 15-22s ("Tactical" model, rolleyes) and they shoot well and have been 100% reliable with a variety of ammo.

I'm a casual high power shooter, by no means a threat to the president's 100 but I understand sight alignment and trigger control.

I also have a WOA competition .22 upper.

Can the 15-22 hang with that? No.

Can the 15-22 outshoot 99.5% of the general public? Absolutely.

It is more than accurate enough for it's purpose. It is minute of lunch accurate way out beyond what I expected. It isn't bad on paper either.

Of course the quality of the glass makes a huge difference. I have my one Top O The Line Most Holy Trijicon and when I bolted it up to the 15-22 I was impressed at how accurate and consistent the rifle was.

Then I popped off the trijicon and put on an Eotech, and then the fun started.

Of course that is MY rifle. Your mileage may vary.

Yesterday afternoon I participated in a two man "run and gun" - rifle and handgun shooting drill. My R&G partner was using his 5.56mm Bushmaster, while I used my 15-22 MOE (open BUIS). Before we started I got a few smiles while loading magazines. the drill started behind a barrier at 50 yards, on two = 9" steel target for each team member, moving after two hits to the second barrier (steel). This time two hits to three steel targets, then move around the second barrier to the 7 yard line with our pistols to another set of paper targets (3" targets). From three seperate run yy MOE performed flawlessly! Great to hear the ting, ting of the MOE over all the gunfire!

After the second run, The folk shooting the bigger brother (5.56) were checking out the M&P 15-22 and want to shoot it!! PTL for Fed 550 packs!

So if you want to have a fun fully functioning battle rifle and not spend an arm and leg the M&P 15-22 will do the trick. If you want to shoot pencil width bullseyes with a tack driver, then look else where.

JMO (Just my opinion)
OBTW (Oh by the way) - my M&P 15-22 will hold a pattern less than 2"at 25 yrds with open sights.

I found mine is very accurate when It's sand bagged,so it must be the shooter when it's not. A good scope really helps.
