My collection is becoming very S&W heavy. I joined this forum to find out some info on an old M&P revolver that my wife owns. Since that time (November) I have purchased an M&P 15-22, Shield .40, T/C Venture (Didn't even realize they were made by S&W) and an M&P22. I love both .22s but I am having to get used to the shield (Glock user... don't throw rocks ;)) . The trigger seems very heavy and the slide is very stiff. I am assuming the slide will loosen with use but is there any solutions for the trigger? I put a Crimson Trace laser guard on it and it's extremely accurate when I squeeze real SLOW but it's almost impossible to squeeze smoothly in normal scenarios.

Any help is much appreciated!

Most everyone else likes the Shield trigger pull. The stock Shields have 1/4 inch take up, 1/4 inch sear pull and over travel, and 1/4 inch to reset, which is positive with a tactile feel. Pull weight is 6.5 pounds. I don't know what you're used to, but the Shield pull is usually considered better than any of the other M&P models. I own several different brands of guns, and I do own a Shield 40, and my slide pull (recoil spring pressure) seems to be the correct amount of pressure.

Call S&W and have them check your serial number to see if it a MA compliant gun. The MA guns have 10 pound pull triggers. All M&P triggers can be further modified with an Apex trigger kit.
