Going to the range tomorrow. Just paid entirely too much for 400 rounds of CCI MiniMags, will report tomorrow evening how the days events went!

Hi Guys
Got my 15-22 back from S&W today and it has the new blue springs. Hammer and Bolt Havent had a chance to try it yet but hope it works better than before. They also sent me 1 new mag it has 22lr and under that it says 25 round. There is quite a difference in the old ones and the new mags mostly where they feed to the bolt.

Yep they did change the magazine lips a bit, it's not like night and day, you have to examine them to see the differences, but they are different.

The only thing I don't understand is Smith must have shipped tens of thousands of these so I imagine only a handfull are really being returned for repairs,right? So why aren't most of the thousands coming back? I've had no issues and mine doesn't have the upgrades. So I don't understand why some need it and some don't. If rifles are kept to the same specs when built you think more would have these problems.

Very valid point! Mine didn't go back because it wasn't firing correctly, mine went back because the mag catch was broke, and while it was there they updated it. I only got to shoot 15-20 rounds before I sent it in and it was all old ammo and it all went through without issue (even Golden Bombs).

Hi Guys
Range report after trip back to the 15-22 birth place. I got the rifle back yesterday so I took it to the range today out of aboute 300 rnds I had 41 stove pipes where the bolt would smash the empty casing and would load one in the chamber at the same time. The new mag they sent me with 22lr and under that it has 25 rounds worked a lot better I fired two mags in it as fast as I could pull the triger and guess what, no jams. I called S&W they wanted me to send the rifle in again to check it. I told them it just got back from there what other thing could they do. I told him that I had 5 of the old mags and they are going to swap them out for the new mags. They are sending me a shiping label to return them for a swap out. I used cci minimags and federal bulk pack. all with the same results Jams, but with the new mag it was OK.
sure glad my Colt m4-22 and my ruger sr-22 works wonderful with No problems.So the new blue springs don't mean squat. I think the whole problem is in the mags.............

I'm sure that all of the FTL problems have been mostly mag related as you point out.
But, the other problems such as oob's and FTE's are not mag related so that's the reason for the new springs and updated extractor.
Glad to hear s&w is replacing all your mags...that's good CS if you ask me.
