I’m allowed to go full weight bearing on my leg. And miner strength bearing on my shoulder. I can finally walk. But with crutches. It’s a massive upgrade. But I’m essentially starting over with my leg. I got a little cocky in front of my doctor and stood up out of my wheelchair. Just for my leg to give out and I fell back into my wheelchair. She then told me to take it slow and it will take time. I got to go back in 6 weeks to know if I can go back to work. It’s amazing how fast muscle can weaken. I told my doctor I ran a full mile a week before my accident and I thought I might have strength left in my leg. But I was wrong. She told me it will be a full year before I can do that again. It’s frustrating but at least I can start walking.

Hang in there, the worst is over!

Oh yes, I am really happy. I was hoping to go back to work in August. But it will be September if I’m allowed. I learn more about my injuries with each round of X-rays. My ankle was shattered in a very weird way. I originally thought I was standing on my clutch or brakes when I hit the ditch. But now I’m wondering if my door slammed on my ankle during my accident. If that’s the case I’m lucky I still have a foot and a insanely competent surgeon that put my ankle back together.

Prayers for a complete recovery.

14 months ago my eldest was hit by a distracted driver. She severely injured her right foot and ankle. She is still undergoing therapy to regain full use. She walks with a degree of difficulty and pain. She still has a long road ahead of her but she is making good progress because she listens and does what her doctors and therapists tell her.

Just two weeks ago her pit bull lawyer (who advertises on Metro busses) informed her that he had won the settlement he was seeking from the cited driver's insurance company. That will be a blessing to her and I am most happy for her.

I will pray for her

Having both worked in the circuit court system and having been envolved in similar case as you're daughter prepare your self to receive 50 to 55 percent of the settlement. Most "pitbulls" operate on 40 to 45% contingency fee plus expenses. Copy of the police report, accident scene photos., depo copies, et all come out of your pocket.
Usually the insurance company will do Anything to keep it from going to trial. Jurors don't like insurance companies any better than you do, so they'll roll to anything to keep it out trial. A jury can sometimes award 3x what they settled to, so it's good business sense for them

She was driving the Honda Fit. An F150 slammed into her from the opposite lane.

It’s always some guy in a big truck driving like he’s invincible.
Happy she is alive. I should consider myself lucky I’m healing as fast as I am. How old is she?

Hang in there Ghost! Every day will be a new challenge, every day you will master that challenge. The challenge will be great, your desire and effort will be greater.
I've been there. You can do it!

Year 21 to 30 has been one frustrating challenge after another. I was going to try once again for law enforcement training next month. But I haven’t given up yet.

She is 38. My youngest turned 35 today. She is in Gatlinburg right now. Thanks for reminding me. I gotta text her a birthday meme.

Her break must have been much worst than mine. She still young. I wonder why she’s having problems healing.

I’m disappointed I got to wait 6 weeks to go back to work. But Star Wars Obi Wan is still a bigger disappointment.

I had a number of blood clots in my lungs and it really did a job on me. I started a heavy diet program, lost 100 pounds and started riding my stationary bike.

Took me a while but I can now shoot a Steel Challenge match without having to have someone push me around in my wheelchair. I just use a walker.

Best of luck to you. It's up to you.

How did the clots happen?
