It was still early morning when I finished feeding all the animals and doing daily chores...and it was such a beautiful morning. We're expecting a storm tomorrow, so I figured why waste such a gorgeous day?

Grabbed a fly rod and my float tube and went to a little pond on the outskirts of town. Sometimes it's nice to be able to do absolutely nothing but drift a fly into some feeding trout. One of my sons who was up visiting happened to take this shot while I was totally oblivious to all the cares of the world.

Float tubes are great. If I could get at the fish with a bicycle, I'd never own another boat.

On days like that, everything is right with the world and you have a smile on your face when you return home. How did the trout taste for supper? Did you only use a little butter in the pan? Thanks for the photo, it is now less that 6 months before this southern red neck uses this WY fish licenses to look for a few mountain trout for the fry pan. Dang, that is a long way off, think I will get out this morning and see if I can buy a few more fly for the tackle box and think about the fat trout somewhere in the mountains of WY. Thanks for posting the photo, made my day.

I bought a float tube when they first came out, didn't use it much around here but used it a lot up in NH, Me and Vt. :)

It looks like you are headed in the right direction Chip. A bad day fishing beats everything else. Gosh I miss the mountains since we sold our Colorado place. Oh well, got the dock rolled into the lake today. Summer ain't far off.

Beautiful. Day like that it doesn't matter but...
Catch anything?
Yep. It was all catch and release, but they were hitting #14 olive bead-head nymphs pretty solidly for almost two hours. You just gotta love a day like that.

Big storm came in the next day and it rained/sleeted for two days, and there was a little skiff of snow on the ground this morning. So, bottom line, the day with the fly rod was certainly a day well spent.:)

I've never fly fished in my life. :(

Then again, I've caught some of the best So. Fla. has to offer.

But you've got me beat with the scenery,

Hmmm, Maybe. But I can't post pics of the scenery here w/o a ding. ;)
