We have a lot of tree damage but the ice is melting. The streets are wet now
and we are getting some showers.
My daughter has a tree covering her back porch and part of a bedroom. No leaks so far. Looking out my bedroom window I can see about the top ten feet of the flag poll in front of the clubhouse, only because all of the tree branches are drooping or broken with ice.
The electricity went off, I think a little after 5am and OG&E had it back on close to 2PM. We were lucky. This place is all electric and that is bad when you have power outages. It dropped the temp in my apt. 11 degrees in that period of time. I am thankful that they got it back on so soon and that we didn't have one of those 5 day deals. Most of us old geezers don't handle the cold too good. You are right, I am not looking forward to winter, my engine runs best at about 75 degrees.

Graydon—I though you had popped the cork on the Halloween corn squeezin’s a bit early. As usual I was wrong (well maybe—you could still be pulling from the jug! It would warm you up but I doubt your doctors would like it. I had my first taste of moonshine in Sallisaw by the way).

Rare, Historic October Ice Storm Sets Sights On Oklahoma

I suppose our hurricanes are a rough too.....everything just gets blown/washed away.

I've only seen a couple of mild ice storms here: a tree limb fell on me as I was stupidly admiring the beautiful scene. And all I coulhear were the cries of the tress as their limbs bowed and cracked

At least you have something pretty to look at. I'm now looking at what looks like a nuclear bomb explosion in the Gulf of Mexico.

I hope and pray that things comes apart before it gets to the US proper. The south has been hit more than enough.
