I can’t remember where, but I picked up these two 5 screw .22lr K-frames. I’d like to know what I have and what the correct grips are. The 6” has some knock off “made in Italy” grips and the 4” has some gorgeous Altmonts.

The 4” SN K 136xxx
The 6” SN K. 100xxx

Thank you for your help!

The 6" is a K-22 Masterpiece that likely shipped in December 1950 or January 1951. It probably shipped with sharp-shouldered magnas. The 4" is a K-22 Combat Masterpiece that likely shipped in May or June 1953. It could have come with magnas or target grips.

BTW, I read the CM's serial as K 186667.

Just me (and it's a matter of personal taste, so no slight intended), I like those Italian grips better than the laminated Altamonts. Finding period correct target stocks (diamond, unrelieved) is sure to be something of a challenge and hard on your wallet, but that Combat Masterpiece would surely be elevated by them. I'm attaching a photo of what I'd deem the ideal upgrade.
