Dude ... chill.
You dont have to lie, you just have to know not to show your hand when your playing poker.
I am certain that had I said "Bullets" when shipping my products to customers, my customers would have been irate since they'd have NEVER gotten there.
I am also certain that some that I have delt with in the past would have had no problem had I said exactly what was in the 40+ pound box ... but most would have blown a gasket and spouted non applicable regulations while denying service if I didn't say Ingots or precision formed metal hardware.
If you think they need to grow the hell up ... your probably right. If you think you dont need to adapt to the fact they havnt been raised right, you will do nothing more than frustrate yourself into an early grave
Jeez Dude, I wasn't playin' poker, I was trying to ship a scale at a store that claims to ship stuff.
I wasn't shipping bullets, it was a scale. Get it? Scale.
You know how in court you swear to "tell the truth, the WHOLE truth and nothin' but the truth so help me Flying Spaghetti Monster?" Well I sort of practice that all the time. It works, try it. OK, I have sort of ignored a lot of Cal's unconstitutional gun laws. But I try to be up front with people.
I think UPS solicits my business, or maybe they think just corporate officers watch TV. I'm going to email them and see what they think of all this. They probably don't answer email, that part wasn't included in the lecture on their business model.
I don't need to chill, I'm not unchilled. I was just taken very much by surprise by the way that idiot reacted. My main complaint was that I had driven 50 miles to ship it with them when I could have gone five and shipped it USPS like I would have if RCBS had not told me otherwise.
I have some idea of how to deal with difficult people, and I don't let it bother me. Before I left Cal I was a volunteer for several years in a trauma two ER. I loved the 400 pounders that came in at 20:30 on Saturday night and complained of their sore knee (ankle, hip, etc.) and them were very upset when they had to wait two hours.
And at a month sort of 68 and in very good health (wanna go for a hike?)I think I'm a bit old for an early grave.
OK, I quit. Thanks, it's been fun. I just want my scale back. Working of course.
