I'm seriosly thinking of giving up the Glock.... and going to Revolver only. I'm a southpaw and a big part of my reasoning is this..... I normally carry in an OWB holster on my left sife at about 9 o'clock. When getting out of my car, I have dropped the magazine at least 3 times on my Glocks... No, it didn't fall all the way out, but had I been rushing to get out and shoot, I would have been down to a single shot. Each time, I heard it, so no major harm done but it bugs me a LOT.

So the poll.

I'm just curious how many conceal carry a larger revolver. Sure a lot of us carry a backup or primary J frame... this is for those who normally pack a bigger piece.

Let's hear what you carry in K, L or N frame, an how you carry it.

Pictures are welcome of course!

I had to pick L because I've been carrying, as my primary, either a 2.5" 686 or 3" 686 +, but that will change sometime in the future.

As soon as my K Frame, 2.5" Model 66-2 gets back from the Pistolsmith that will become my primary.
Due to it's lighter weight I prefer the way the 66 handles when compared to the 686.

For what it's worth, I carry cross-draw.......

For my last 14 years of plainclothes work I carried a 4" Ruger Security Six (think K frame) in a Milt sparks #200AW strong side FBI tilt holster. I still have and use that rig in retirement as a CCW. I fool around with other toys as well now but that setup served me well then and still does. I'm hard pressed to think of a better outfit even now.

Miss carrying my 3" RB K frames (13/64/65s) but no longer own them. I still carry my 4" 58 on occassions however along with the 442 Pro in the pocket.

I carry N Frames, up to 4", crossdraw. My newest is the Night Guard .45acp. I am loving it and have ordered a Mernickle Extreme Crossdraw for it.

Another Southpaw here. 2" M64 bobbed hammer. Gould & Goodrich 3 slot pancake toward the 8 O'clock side of 9 O'clock.

I've cairried a 2" Model 64 almost exclusively for the last six years. I use a Don Hume Slide OWB most times, when I feel the need for retention, I use a Bianchi #5BH, like when I'm cycling, canoeing, hiking, etc.

In the Winter I sometimes carry a 4" Model 64 in a Bianchi #5BH, concealed by a long waisted jacket.

I do have a 4" Model 66 and a Wild Bill's Concealement "Summer Special" IWB holster, but don't carry it often as the adjustable sights dig into my fleshy bits on my waist...

I practice frequently shooting double action, and compete with the 4" Model 64 in IDPA and IPSC matches, shooting double action exclusively. That way, If I ever have to use the revolver for defense, my training in competition will help....

I like my 4"65 in an Alessi belt slidewith a long jacket. Sitting down is not a problem, even with target grips. I like the pull through snap.

4" Model 10-10 with a Barami Hip Grip.......4" 64-7 in a pancake OWB holster, or also a 4" Ruger Speed Six .357.

I personally, for my needs see no need to carry a larger frame .357 like an L or an N, when a medium frame like a Speed Six meets my needs just fine for defensive use. When I carry my S&W .38's like my 10's and 64's, I do not feel "undergunned" with 130 gr. .38 +P's.

Same as above posting. I love my m10s,64sto carry for protection. All fit right in my iwb holsters with no problems

I carry a 2.75" Security Six occasionally in a cheap nylon IWB holster, I would carry it a lot more if I had a decent holster for it. any recommendations?
