Dont ask how I come up with 6, just thought it would be interesting number, if you could only own 6 firearms, what would they be?
Me, probably;
s&w ar10 .308.
S&w 686p
Colt 6920
Glock 17 g4
870p
And a o/u 12 gauge, I have a Winchester, but would probably upgrade

1. S&W Mountain Revolver .44 Magnum.
2. Springfield TRP .45 ACP.
3. Browning SA 22.
4. Browning Citori 12 Gauge, 26 In Barrels with choke tubes.
5. Ruger American in 30.06.
6. FN SCAR 16 .223.

These are guns I own:
A Sako Mauser( 1954) 30-06
Model 28-2, 6"
Ljutic LTX 12 ga trap gun
Model 17-3 ( 1968) 22 cal
Belgium HB Browning Safari 222
Model 29 Classic DX 5"bbl 44 mag

Tough question to answer, but with that selection, I can shoot cheaply, protect myself, shoot trap, and hunt anything in North America. The only gun I might change would be the trap gun (LTX) to a Krieghoff K80 32" o/u to shoot singles, handicap and doubles trap

I would keep my 1911, 4506, 6906, LCP, the 1973 Glenfield Model 60 that was my dad's and I'd like to get back the stolen Ruger Standard that dad gave me for graduation.

I will delete this later lest the ether labels it an arsenal.

Colt Govt. Model
CZ 75
S&W 586
S&W Chief"s Special
Kimber Pro Carry
Mossberg 12 ga. pump gun

Easy, I am an old guy and have had most of the 6 gun limit for most of my life. I have more - - Because I can - but limited to 6:

1. Browning Auto 5 12 ga.
2. Marlin 39A
3. Rem. 700 ADL 30-06
4. Rem. 788 .223
5. Ruger Single Six/old model convertible 22/22mag
6. S&W Model 686 4inch

There was a time when the 686 would have been a 19/66 4in. but I have come to believe the 686 is a better choice even if it isn't as stylish.

The above will cover all that I would need to carry me through to the big dirt nap. Hunting and plinking/target practice and while, maybe, not the top choice for CC the 686 would work if needed.

I have owned all of the listed guns since I was in my mid-20s or earlier except for the 686. I was in my mid 30s before they came out.

1. 870 Police Marine Magnum.
2. Sig P229 SAS 357Sig w/ spare 9mm Barrel
3. Home made Mega Maten 308 18"
4. Home made AR15
5. HK45
6. 640 Pro

Six? Well, I am down to two (2) as of now: a Ruger SR1911 CMD in .45 ACP, and a Shield 2.0 9mm. (My M&P 2.0 compact became a Shield on Friday...I wanted a smaller carry gun.) I only plan one more purchase for me: a Mossberg Shockwave (can't decide on 12 or 20.) I've owned over 130 handguns in my lifetime, although not nearly all that many at one time...probably 25 at most at any one time. Anyway, I'm tired of buying/selling/trading, and since I don't have anyone to leave them to (my sons have no interest) I've kept only what I want and need. As the saying goes, we spend the first half of our lives acquiring and last half disposing. I'm also getting rid of some other collections (not firearms) that I've accumulated...I'm finding some pleasure in being light and lean (in all except my physique.)

Is there a special reason for only six, SHF, or just because that is what you want to know.

1 Colt 1911 in 45 ACP
2. Spring Field Armory 1911, Range Officer in 9mm
3. M1A1 in 308-762 x 51
4.Mini 14
5. S&W 29-2
6 Henry Golden Boy in 44 mag.

Yes, what is magic about the number six?

Three would definitely be:
a good .22 semiauto pistol - probably Ruger
a good .22 semiauto rifle - no specific brand
a good 12 gauge pump gun with choke tubes - probably a Remington 870
Those three would meet at least 90% of anyone's gun needs for most all purposes

The other three would depend on specific circumstances as to where I might be. Could include a larger caliber revolver (minimum .38 Special) or semiautomatic pistol (minimum 9mm), a larger caliber (.308/.30-'06/.270) scoped bolt action rifle, and a more compact smaller caliber CF semiauto or lever action rifle - preferably a .30 M1 carbine. Brands would be unimportant.

In a least one European country, you are limited to 3: 1 handgun, 1 rifle, 1 shotgun. This is double that.

2 handguns: Les Bear 1911 45 & S&W 49 (38 Special
2 shotguns; Browning 725 Sporting 12 gauge & Remington 870 12 gauge 12
2 rifles: T/C Encore (All Barrels) & Anschutz sporting 22

I think this thread is harder than a 2 gun thread!

An accurate .22 rifle
Bolt action .308/.30-06
Remington 870 12 gauge w/ two barrels
S&W 642
1911 .45 ACP
Marlin 1894CS .357 magnum

This fulfills all my hunting and defensive needs. Any additional just adds to the fun factor!

HUmmmmmmmmmm..........................

My

#1. Custom round butt 4" 686-nuttin ( best all around utility/duty/general purpose .357/.38 going IMHO)
#2. Performance Center Shorty 9 (conceals carry almost as well as my 3913NL)
#3. Wilson Combat Beretta 92 Centurion Tactical. (SHTF handgun)
#4. CZ 452FS/mannlicher in .22 magnum. ( could go with a new 455FS and get barrels in .22lr,.22mag and .17hmr)
#5. An AR; in 5.56......... can I get multiple uppers???...... 10/20 and 30 rd magazines.

#6. Torn between a Model 18 or a 3 " 66....... probably have to give the nod to ..............................

Wait wait.... my Performance Center SD-9.. can't not have a Browning HP or a Sig 220 .45............my Ruger 77/357 is a handy little gun so is a Ruger 10/22 International/mannlicher ........

It's clear....... sorry "6" is just not an acceptable number...... "6" may represent a good start.................. always liked the sound or ""Four Score and seven"

Two revolvers
Two semiautos
Two rifles

One of each of the above would be a .22LR.

Well, I only own 7 in total...so...not difficult for me to imagine the scenario.

Two S&W revolvers...J and L frame.

Three 9mm Glocks in sub-compact, compact and full size.

One M&P15 TS for a battle rifle

One Remington 870 for shotgun

Pretty much covers all the food groups (for me) and essentially mimics the firearms I used on the job prior to retiring.

1) COLT .45 automatic 1911 (for concealed carry, home defense, or anything in between).
2) S&W 686P, 4" barrel. (full power 357 magnum that can do it all)
3) Beretta M9 (wonder-nine with lots of capacity; 20 round magazines)
4) S&W 649 .357 magnum (small concealed revolver for edc or when a larger handgun cannot be worn)
5) Browning A5 (shotgun for home and hearth)
6) M1 Garand (battle rifle)

Interesting question. I just looked in the safe and got really depressed, which one's do I eliminate? Only 6? I would say any good .22 rifle, 12 ga. shotgun, 30-06 rifle, 45acp, 357 mag, 40 s&w. Throw in a loading press and dies and I'm good to go.
