This isn't theoretical for some members. I've read that without special permits, South African members are in fact, limited to six firearms! And a high court there ruled that unregistered guns will be illegal and seized! The Rules preclude discussing what I'd like to add about why this is, and why it may get worse.
I've worried about this if the US adopts similar laws, God forbid. I think Brazil has such laws, unless one buys an expensive collectors license, and then, the "collection" guns can't be taken out and fired. And hunting is all but forbidden, save for the Indios in the Amazon jungles.
My list might be:
1.) S&W M-60-7, usual snub type
2.) Remington M-870 12 ga. Mine has a 26 " bbl. and an engraved receiver and recoil pad
3.) S&W M-66-3, four - inch bbl.
4.) Ruger GP-100, four-inch, stainless
5.) Marlin M-795 .22 rifle, the stainless model with black synthetic stock
6.) Winchester M-70 Fwt. Classic. Mine's a .270, but I might switch to a .30-06 in those conditions.
Sorely missed:
Ruger SP-101 .357, mine having the barrel a bit over three inches
Beretta M-92FS 9mm
CZ-75B 9mm
S&W M-60-4, which I might sub for the M-60-7. Very hard call. The three-inch full lug barrel and target sights make it an astonishingly accurate small .38.
Winchester M-70 or CZ .375 Magnum rifle, maybe a Sako Safari Grade .375. Probably the Winchester
Colt 45 auto, stainless
Ruger MK II .22 pistol. Mine's the stainless 5.5 inch bull barrel version.
Beretta M-391 20 ga. Urika Gold shotgun
CZ M-452 or Winchester M-52 (Miroku-made) sporter hunting rifle, for squirrels, mainly.
FN-FAL 7.62 mm rifle
Colt AR-15, the one like an M-16A2.
Lee-Enfield .303, the No. 4 MK 2. Mine's from Fazakerley arsenal, 1952, a favorite rifle
Sako Forester .243
Ruger M-77 International .308
Ruger Super Blackhawk, the usual 7.5-inch bbl. , stainless
S&W M-629-3, six-inch barrel
There are many others. I just hope a 6-gun limit never comes to pass here.
