If you could only have 6 firearms

1 model 16-4 beads out a 18 because its reloadable
2 my 629-1 reamed to 45 colt and cut tto run 45acp in full moon clips
3 223 ruger 77
4 308 model 600 Mohawk
5 338 WM Ruger 77
6 Remington 870 12 gauge

But, I will never be down to 6, 60 maybe

Well, the cool part is that you can try not to subject yourself to that restriction. The end result is that you get the restriction imposed upon you, and if you don’t comply, you’re dead or locked up. Kinda silly to puff out your chest during an intellectual debate, but hey, thanks for the off topic diatribe . . .
Colddollar;

I'll "One Up" you, and make an even stronger, more positive statement. I "Will Never", subject myself to a situation, or restriction of that sort! That is the exact reason that the second amendment, was made, to the constitution of the USA. I think that we can all expect to see "The Fur Fly", when that attempt, is made, as I'm sure it will be made. It's an inevitable procedure, in the testing, and evaluation of a democracy, by its self acknowledged rulers. I hope this opinion is not considered political, but I think it's something that should be said.

I'll try....

The first is easy.

My 686.

3rd gen S&W

Shield

12 ga pump

SKS (Fulfill's my requirement that I HAVE to have a carbine of some sort)

A scoped bolt rifle between 6mm and .30 caliber.

Right now my 'frills' include a 9mm carbine. a couple of J frames, a pump and an A5 shotguns, a Sig Sauer 9mm, a 30-06 deer rifle with a minimal scope and a Mosin Nagant.

Wish list -

I'd like another model 10 like the one I had to let go.

A Ruger mini 14

I'm building an AR, so eventually...

S&W model 29.

Ruger 10/22

Winchester 1894

A short pump 'tactical' shotgun

An SA pistol, 1911 design.

.30 carbine (Pipe dream, which is why I got the SKS)

I'm sure I can think up a few more.

Hmm...........nope, can't do it.
Limiting myself to 6, just seems wrong somehow.

What's that saying about a picture being worth 1,000 words?
You sure saved a lotta typing there eh? :)

Six? Well, I am down to two (2) as of now: a Ruger SR1911 CMD in .45 ACP, and a Shield 2.0 9mm.
...
I only plan one more purchase for me: a Mossberg Shockwave (can't decide on 12 or 20.)

I went with the Shockwave in 20. As the arthritis worsens, 12 became unmanageable. And even 20 in that format is rough.

The SR 1911 Commander in 9mm is a winner as well!

I would consider it “a great hardship” but I suppose I could get along with...
1) 1911 .45 Auto with adj. sights and .22 conversion kit
2) 340PD
3) Browning O/U 20-gauge sporter
4) M4 (optics-ready type)
5) .300 Weatherby
6) M70 .416 RM

Increasing the allotment to ten or twelve would ease a lot of anxiety. :D

Don't know why I didn't see this thread sooner.

I've had a list for years called "The Six" I have solid reasoning for my choices.

Not legal regulation or the like, just a reasonable number of guns to travel with when you have no set destination, or quarry in mind. Guns that should have you covered for the unexpected, say in the lower 48 while touring in a motorhome or something. All must have your total trust for dependability both now & long term. Something that I may currently have, or something with sentimental value has no place unless it's totally dependable.

-Ruger Single Six
-Glock 19/23
-44 mag. revolver, 629/Blackhawk, etc.
-Ruger 77/22, scoped & iron sighted
-Centerfire, scoped bolt action, capable of taking most N. American big game.
-12 gauge repeater. My vote hands down is an 870.

This list of mine hasn't changed in years, the trust remains. A fly in the ointment is the more recent events of mob violence & terrorism. This has me thinking of an AR or the like. That requires something to be eliminated from the list. Might have to loose the 22 or 44 handgun.

Thanks for your concern about my silliness. My statement Passed right over your head, while you were discussing, with great intelligence, in what you call an "intellectual debate", about what we already know. I wasn't being silly, or puffing out my chest, or denouncing anything. I was merely making a statement. "I am prepared to defend my rights". The question is, are you?, or will you be satisfied, by holding an "intellectual debate" about your accepting it, when yours are removed? I am truly sorry that I took offence, at your opinions, and gave my "Silly opinion", on the matter, but was "silly" enough to think that I had the right, to do so, and that it would matter.
