Easy question, if you had 1,000 dollars to spend on the ultimate concealed carry revolver, what would you choose?

Please include barrel length, caliber, and leather.

If I had a$1000.00 to spend on a CCW revolver I would chose one of the following:
1. S&W 640 pro series in .357 magnum with moon clips and night sights
2. S&W 642 1 1/8" pro series with moon clips .38 special
3. S&W 686-1,2,3,4, with 2.5" barrel .357
4. S&W 627 UDR with 2.5" barrel .357 mag
5. S&W 625 with 3" barrel .45acp

A K frame 38 special, in stainless steel, with a round butt and a 3" barrel, with adjustable sights.

I'm not sure if that exists, but I sure hope so!

I guess that 625 with a 3" barrel is a unicorn gun.
I would love to find one, that looks just right.

When night fishing for large mouth bass I like my 357mag 6 shot snubnose revolver with a 2 3/4" barrel in stainless.

625 - 4" Barrel.
Big bore performance without the magnum punishment. Smooooth, accurate and built like a tank.

Hey guys, I'm new to the forum and I just wanted to say hi. I was looking at this thread and I have been debating on few for myself. Currently in the runnings:

1. S&W M&P340 w/ Galco IWB Holster
Pros: DA Only w/ internal Hammer, .38+P, Very Lightweight

2. Ruger LCR-LG w/ Desantis Pocket Holster
Pros: Very Concealable, .38+P, Comes with Crimsion Trace Grips

3. S&W M&P360 Chief Special w/ Single Shoulder Inverted Holster
Pros: Sometime hearing the sound of a hammer cock back is all you need

All have 2" barrels

Well Here is your Unicorn! 625 of 1988 with 3" barrel , custom night sights, trigger job, custom Grasshorn grips and a few other custom things on it. I have carried this as my alternate duty/off duty gun and back up gun for the past 9 years. I can not carry it on duty anymore due to the policy changes at my agency.

586 or 686 + 3" 357mag . Holsters are just too subjective & I think we all go through at least a few before we find something we really like . If you can live w/o the 7th round , IMHO a M13 or M65 3" ( or two ) would work .

I like your list. But I would recommend few changes. 1) the LCR should be the 357. The extra 4 oz help with recoil, but it's still plenty light. 2) I wouldn't put the CT on the LCR (due to shooting comfort), I would instead go with tritium sights 3) I wouldn't go with anything with an exposed hammer if there was any chance of ever pocket carrying.

My EDC is the 357 LCR. It'll shoot sub-3" groups (sometimes sub 2.5" groups) at 20 yards. And it's reliable. I rarely shoot 357s in it as it beats the p**s out of me when I do.:( It would be better with night sights though.

I would spend about $400 on another 442 and keep the rest. I might consider a Detective Special for $600-700 and pocket the rest.
