Illinois vs Texas

Illinois:

The Governor of Illinois is jogging with his dog along a nature trail.

A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor's dog, then bites the Governor.

1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie "Bambi"
and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.

2. He calls animal control .. Animal Control captures the coyote and
bills the State $200 testing it for diseases and $500 for relocating it.

3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the
State $200 testing it for diseases.

4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for
diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged.

5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game
conducts a $100,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.

6. The Governor spends $50,000 in state funds implementing a "coyote
awareness program" for residents of the area.

7. The State Legislature spends $2 million to study how to better treat
rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.

8 The Governor's security agent is fired for not stopping the attack.
The State spends $150,000 to hire and train a new agent with additional special training re:
the nature of coyotes.

9. PETA protests the coyote's relocation and files a $5 million suit
against the State.

Texas :

The Governor of Texas is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A
Coyote jumps out and attacks the dog.

1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his State-issued pistol and keeps
jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50
on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.

2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.

And that, my friends, is why Illinois is broke and Texas is not.

You forgot to say the Il. Governor is then found guilty of corruption and both tried and sentenced to prison on the tax payor's nickel. You just got to love Chicago style politics while at the same time remembering where the current president came from. From behind the lines in occupied Il. All my best ,Joe.

So the comparison is off by 100%, as it would seem the price of a .45ACP would have been the $.50. But now we hear its a .380 so the cost would obviously be $1.00. Then again if the Texas governor had a "manly" dog, it would have turned on the coyote and ripped its throat out, then continued running along. Happily. Would have saved the .380 round and the state of Illinois a bunch of embarrassment.

Fois gras is delicious!

I eat as often as possible. Cheers to drunken geese and their delicious liver!

My dish with fois gras is corn meal fried oyster batter with buttermilk. The sauce is Hollandaise, Lea and Perrins Worcestershire, and sherry wine sauced. Poured on top the oysters. Under the oyster is toast with spread fois gras.

Hows that sound?

What do you drink with that, Chardonnay? Chablis is traditional with oysters, as is Sancerre. (Chablis is made from Chardonnay grapes, by French law.)

I like Lea & Perrins, but recent labels no longer have the statement "From the recipe of a nobleman in the County." I used to enjoy that.

BTW, for those who haven't heard, the above event did happen in real life, but Gov. Perry's Ruger .380 was probably his own, not state-issued. I don't think the governor is actually issued a pistol. I never heard where his DPS security detail was when the coyote appeared. The dog with Perry was his daughter's.

Texas DPS uses .357 SIG's, so I guess that's what his security men have.

The true sadness is that there is a report that the coyote voted for the Il. governor.

Sorry, I could not resist.

I know I am way off topic, but really Chablis or a red wine like a Bordeaux or Cabernet. Glad some one enjoys fois gras. Even a Sazerac (the cocktail) would be great too.

the OP message is as close to the truth as one can get.

rahm, the "Q" ball and king mike madigan have exclusive control and they are dug in deeper than an alabama tick.

Illinois would've been a pretty good state to live in, if only Chicago had been part of Wisconsin.

First of all, we don't want it!

Secondly, The land that Chicago sits on and the land further north WAS a part of Wisconsin Territory but Illinois wanted access to the Great Lakes shipping and the deed was done.

Chicago has the best city council that money can buy.

Just a couple of notes.

1) PETA has just filed another lawsuit in order to force the state of Illinois into re-capturing that Coyote and testing it for blood born parasites and diseases. They are concerned that Coyote may have picked up something that could prove to be lethal when he bit that politician.

2) Could you PLEASE tell me where to pick up hollow points in 45ACP for only 50 cents per round? Last time I picked up a few boxes of Speer Gold Dots for my 1911 they cost 48 dollars per 50 count box.

The Texas Rangers (a division on DPS) provide security to the Governor.

I know no politics here, but I worked for Gov. Perry's re-election campaign a couple of years ago and got to meet him (and his Rangers) a few times. Every Ranger I saw were carrying custom M1911's. Really really really NICE 1911's too.

He pulls a knife you pull a gun, he sends one of yours to the hospital you send one of his to the morgue! That's the Racine way.

Doesn't quite have the same ring to it... ;)
